Grampian Branch AGM

Venue:  Lyne of Skene School Hall

Please do come to this interesting and friendly meeting where a new committee will be appointed, rosettes and awards will be distributed and plans made for next year’s activities. There will be refreshments and possibly a glass of wine!

This is your opportunity to have your say and listen to discussions on matters which affect our sport and hobby so do. Members of the Committee will be travelling down so if you need a lift please get in touch with one of them.

Car Boot Sale - to be held at Smallburn.

Solve your Christmas present problems - for you and your horse by coming to the Serc Grampian Bring and Buy Tack Sale.

This will take to form of a Car Boot Sale at the covered school, Smallburn, Cairnie by Huntly on Sat 24th Nov starting at 11.00a.m.

 The sale is not exclusive to horse related item - all items should be clean and clearly marked with size, the asking price and your name. There will be a charge of £2.00 per car (for club funds) and if you have not done this before you need to bring a small table to display your wares. It is also a good idea to have some change and carrier bags and to wrap up warmly!

 There will be soup, baked tatties and snacks at £1.00 per person.

A clinic with Liz Morrison – sports psychologist - CANCELLED

This is a brilliant clinic to help you find and maintain your positive attitude to riding and to plan and achieve your ambitions. For anyone who finds his or her resolution wavering – weather/too busy/children - this is for you!

This takes the form of a lecture on Saturday evening, open to all,  and a clinic on the Sunday for a few lucky riders
Saturday 16 February - Archaeolink Lecture theatre, Oyne, starting at 7.00pm

Tickets for this fascinating evening are £5.00 including tea/coffee/ biscuits. Liz will follow her talk with an informal discussion and be happy to give personal advice and tips on a one to one basis to help you reach your goals.
Sunday 17 February Oyne Equestrian Centre.    10.00 am to 5.00pm.

This will be an all day clinic for 10 riders with their horses.  It will start with an unmounted group session followed by five one-hour personalised sessions for two riders and their horses.  Other participants will be able to watch and learn from these sessions. The cost of this whole day will be £60 per horse and rider.

We need to confirm these arrangements within the next 14 days so if you wish to be one of these lucky riders will you please ‘phone Tony Comerford on 013398 81460 or contact him on karenandtonyuk@yahoo.co.uk and let him have your cheque by February 3rd.

There will be opportunities for observers at a cost of £5.00 each. The cafe at Touched by Scotland (01464 851489) just round the corner, should be open by then if people do not want to bring their own lunch.

Drop in to Endurance, at Lyne of Skene

This is an informal occasion to discuss our sport at every level. There will be people happy to talk to you about map reading; crewing; riding kit, saddlery and equipment; planning your ride; feeding and training; vetting and vet gates/halts. Although this is aimed at relative newcomers to the sport, there will be plenty of experienced riders willing to discuss the challenge of riding at higher levels – so come along for a friendly, social day out!  Tea, coffee and biscuits.

We are having a get together where everybody can learn what is needed to organise and run a ride, what helpers are needed and what those jobs entail.  So please come along and learn what you could do and volunteer to help when and where you can.  All are welcome to this enjoyable and instructive evening.   Tea, coffee and biscuits will be on offer.
