Coming from the SOUTH on A96, 4 miles after the Huntly roundabout, look out for the ASHGROVE Filling Station/cafe on the left. Continue up hill and shortly after entering the new road section TURN RIGHT at sign to Boghead & Windyraw.

Coming from the NORTH the turn is on your LEFT about 4 1/2 miles from Keith and as you are coming to the end of section of “improved” road where a new flyover has been built. It has a sign to Boghead & Windyraw.

Follow this road through the underpass (ignore 2 LH turns, small RH turn) for 700 yards staying on tarmac– the farm venue is on your left and visible once through the underpass.

Crews & Riders please note

The routes cross the busy A96 at the Ashgrove filling station, which may be doing a roaring trade on a Sunday. Please take care and riders obey steward’s instructions as to where you should position yourself to cross this road safely. CAREFUL and COURTEOUS crewing here as it is now a restaurant and garden centre!

Crew vehicles are not permitted to enter the forests but there is plenty of crew access on public roads.

Marking is red and white tape and orange or blue spray paint.

Please ensure your horse’s shoes are fit for the distance. Farrier in attendance

Water (at Botary steading not for human consumption) and toilet on site, camping and corralling available at Smallburn only - not at Botary Mains. Please ring Mary on 01466 760 219 if you wish to do this. If you are corralling please bring your own electric fencing and water bucket. (Smallburn water OK)

PLEASE keep dogs on leads. We are on very good terms with our neighbours and would like to keep it that way! The farmer will not hesitate to shoot any dog seen amongst his stock.
