Drumtochty	Venue : OS Map 45 Stonehaven & Banchory  Grid Ref : NO 705 799 Check out the ‘Ride Locator’ on www.serc-grampian.org.uk There is no hardstanding. Large flat grass venue field. The midges at the venue can be savage so don’t forget your and your horses fly repellent on the day!
Description	Forestry ride which encompasses South Drumtochty forest only, with good fittening climb of 400 meters on soft tracks, plus standard forestry tracks and minimum road work.   A great ride for those of you wanting to fitten up your horse for the higher mileages, as well as a pleasant taster for the new endurance rider. No gates and good tracks with some excellent views and lovely canter tracks. Average speeds on similar tracks in 2007: 30=12.36, Tr=11.61, Pl=10.66

Directions	From North: From A90  southbound, take the B966 signposted to Auchenblae.  Turn right after 0.7 miles.  Follow the road for approx 1 miles and turn right at the 1st crossroads.  Follow road (passing places on narrow sections) and downhill into the village.  Turn right and continue uphill.  At the top of the hill turn sharp left (signposted for Drumtochty Glen 1.5 miles).  Follow the road for approx 1.5 miles.  Just after Church turn right through gates (marked Drumtochty Castle) and then left into venue field. From South: From A90 northbound, take B966 signposted Auchenblae. Directions as above. From Fettercairn: Leave Fettercairn on B974 heading towards the Cairn O’Mount.  After 3.7 miles turn right at Clatterin Brig, signposted Drumtochty Glen. Follow narrow road for 3.1 miles & venue is on left just before the church. From Banchory: Leave Banchory on B974 Cairn O’Mount Road. Turn left at Clatterin Brig at bottom of Cairn O’Mount – then follow directions as above.
Marking	MARKING is with BIODEGRADABLE SPRAY and letters (ignore any red and white tape)
